Employee Transfer Policy

OVERVIEW

Our strong and rapidly growing company creates opportunity for job transfers from one location to another. This policy covers the important communication and sequential steps for a transfer of employment to take place.

SCOPE

It is expected that the company President, Regional Manager(s) (R.M.), and local General Managers (G.M.) be included in the process of transferring an employee to another location. A transfer can include either a lateral move and/or promotion.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that there is good communication and a healthy process of transferring an employee into another location.

POLICY

The Employee – Any employee who desires to make a transfer can communicate the interest to his/her direct report regarding the interest. A Transfer Request Form* can be completed and submitted to the local G.M. for evaluation.

The sending General Manager – The G.M. of the location with an employee interested in transferring will review the completed request form, complete his/her portion, and meet with the employee to further discuss the interest. If it is believed a transfer is a viable option, the G.M. will email the form to the G.M. of the other location and make contact by phone to discuss.

The receiving General Manager – The G.M. of the other location, together with the G.M. of the employee, will evaluate the request and determine together if a transfer would be a good decision for the company. Upon making their determination, the form will be completed, emailed to the Regional Manager and followed up with a phone conversation.

The Regional Manager – The R.M. along with both G.M.’s will determine if a transfer is warranted at which point the R.M. will review with the company President regarding the parameters for the transfer, including: timing, expenses, expectations, etc. These parameters will be completed by the President and then provided to both G.M.’s and the employee making the transfer request. All inquiries for moving expenses and incentives will be reviewed by the President, together with the CEO, and must be approved by the CEO.

Moving Expenses – The President or CEO are to be involved in any consideration of moving expenses being paid out prior to any commitments made.
